Hamilton College men's cross country runner Adam Pfander '16 (Newfane, Vt./Concord Academy [Mass.]) was selected the Division III men's national athlete of the week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Oct. 28.
Pfander led Hamilton to third place out of 12 teams in the 2013 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Cross Country Championships held on Hamilton's campus on Oct. 26. He won his third race this fall -- all at home -- with a time of 26 minutes, 13.2 seconds on the 8-kilometer course. His time was more than 16 seconds faster than the runner-up.
Pfander earned the NYSCTC most outstanding male runner award and made the all-conference first team. He owns the second-fastest time by a Hamilton runner on his home course.
The Continentals compete in the 2013 NESCAC Championships, hosted by Connecticut College, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m.
