Tsakani Ngobeni '07 tied a season high with 24 points and 12 Hamilton College players scored in the Continentals' 97-70 non-league win against host Medgar Evers College in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on Nov. 25.
Ngobeni grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. He has posted a double-double in points and rebounds all three games this season. Ngobeni made 10 of 15 shots from the field, including 2 of 3 from three-point range.
Harlee Wood '09 dropped in 13 points on 6 of 8 shooting off the bench. Giorgi Chavleishvili '08 added 12 and five rebounds. Nick Jones '07 chipped in 10 points for Hamilton (3-0 overall). Zarrette Rogers '07 and Ramunas Rozgys '09 scored seven points apiece for the Continentals. Jay Simpson '10 handed out a team-high four assists and was credited with two steals.
Hamilton led 39-25 at the half and scored 58 points in the final 20 minutes. The Continentals shot 62.5 percent (25-40) from the floor in the second half and ended up at 57.9 percent (44-76) for the game. Hamilton helped force 19 Medgar Evers turnovers by making 11 steals. Medgar Evers dropped to 1-3 this season.
The Continentals return to Scott Field House on Tuesday, Nov. 28, to host local rival Utica College for a non-league game that starts at 7 p.m.
