Hamilton College’s Joe Jensen '15 finished first in the 400-meter dash at Rochester Institute of Technology’s non-team scoring Orange and Brown Invitational at Gordon Field House on Feb. 15.

RESULTS

Jensen’s time of 50.88 seconds in the 400 qualified him for the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships, which will be held at New York City's New Balance Armory Track & Field Center on March 1 and 2. Jensen also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.06 seconds.

Sam Reider '14 raced to third place in the 400 meters with a time of 51.42 seconds. Mbuotidem Isaac '15 sprinted to fifth place in the 60-meter dash finals in 7.14 seconds, which was just .01 seconds off the school record Isaac set on Jan. 26. Jimmy Alexis '13 posted a personal best in the pole vault with a height of 4.56 meters (14 feet, 11.5 inches). Alexis' performance was just 1 centimeter shy of tying the school record.

Andrew Mandelbaum '16 took ninth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.66. Sam Dupuis '13 finished 13th in a field of 36 athletes in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 16:07.90.

Leonard Kilekwang '16 ended up in sixth place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.38 meters (43 feet, 10.75 inches). Will Tifft '14 finished sixth and set a personal record in the 35-pound weight throw with a distance of 14.99 meters (49 feet, 2.25 inches).

Three nationally ranked teams competed in the invitational including No. 16 RIT, No. 18 SUNY Oneonta and No. 20 SUNY Brockport. Hamilton heads to Ithaca College for the New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23.
