Marko Nikic ’13, a geosciences major, presented a poster titled “Correlating the North Atlantic Oscillation and the Arctic Oscillation to Central New York’s 2011-2012 Winter Weather” at the 38th Annual Northeastern Storm Conference held in Rutland, Vt., on March 8-10.
This conference, the largest student-run conference in the nation, was sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, the National Weather Service, and Lyndon State College. The work Nikic presented was based on his senior thesis with Professor of Geosciences Cynthia Domack and an internship with professional meteorologist Adam Musyt at WKTV, Utica.
