Hamilton College hosts William Smith College in a 2010 Liberty League field hockey tournament semifinal game at Campus Road Athletic Field on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m.

Live statistics will be available. Hamilton (12-2 overall) is the No. 2 seed in the tournament, and is tied for 14th in this week's Division III Top 20 coaches poll. The Continentals are ranked third in the North Atlantic Region by the NCAA. William Smith (11-7) is the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

The other semifinal is between top seed Skidmore College and No. 4 seed Union College at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The two semifinal winners play in the championship game at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Hamilton needs one win to set a team record for most in a season. The Continentals are making their third appearance in the tournament -- all in the last three years. In 2009, Hamilton advanced to its first tournament championship game, but lost in overtime at Skidmore.

The Herons have history on their side as they are making their seventh tournament appearance, and have captured four tournament titles. However, William Smith is 3-4 away from home this year, and the Herons have lost three straight games against the Continentals. Amazingly, all three games went to overtime. William Smith leads the all-time series, 29-5-1.
