Hamilton President Joan Hinde Stewart and 18 of her presidential colleagues have pledged to make available to prospective students and their families all possible useful information about their colleges, while at the same time de-emphasizing the role that rankings should play in the admission process.
"This is an extremely complex issue," said Stewart. "I have added my voice to those of my colleagues who believe in making as much information as possible available to students and their families, and who have serious reservations about the way U.S. News & World Report and other organizations portray a false hierarchy of colleges and universities."
