Amy Koenig.

Assistant Professor of Classics Amy Koenig presented an invited lecture at Bryn Mawr College as part of their Classics Colloquium series on Sept. 20.

Her talk, titled "The Emperor's Command: Voice, Authority, and the Case of Claudius," examined ways in which the relationship between concepts of the voice and of imperial power shaped ancient historians' descriptions of the emperor Claudius and his vocal disability.

Koenig is currently serving as a 2024-25 Margo Tytus Visiting Scholar at the University of Cincinnati while on her sabbatical leave.
