An article co-authored by Derek Jones, the Irma M. and Robert D. Morris Professor of Economics, was recently published online in the Review of Social Economy.
Co-authored by Panu Kalmi of Finland’s University of Vaasa, “Membership and Performance in Finnish Financial Cooperatives: A New View of Cooperatives?” presented the results of the authors’ recent study of cooperative banks. The authors re-examined earlier findings of the relationship between membership and performance, employing an alternative measure for membership and improved estimation methods.
