Assistant Professor of Russian Studies Jason Cieply spoke at Bard College recently on Artemy Magun's 2024 book, The Temptation of Non-Being: Negativity in Aesthetics, which Cieply co-translated with Anastasia Osipova and Ruth Averbach.

The Temptation of Non-Being offers a new dialectical theory of aesthetics which attempts to address the complex and profound negativity that has defined modern art. The book is available for purchase from Bloomsbury Publishing.
