Derek Jones, the Irma M. and Robert D. Morris Professor of Economics, published a paper in the November-December issue of the online journal Interfaces.

“Employee Ownership as a Mechanism to Enhance Corporate Governance and Moderate Executive Pay Levels” appears in the special issue focusing on “Executive Compensation.” Jones drew on information about firms that included the Mondragon cooperatives and major Japanese corporations to provide evidence on ways employee ownership may improve corporate governance and moderate executive pay levels.

According to its website, Interfaces is the premier practice journal “focusing on the practice of operations research and management science and the impact this practice has on organizations throughout the world.” The journal publishes papers on real-world problems and their practical solutions in the areas of business, government, the military, health care and nonprofits. A main focus is on presenting successful implementations of novel and creative solutions to practical problems.
