Research Associate Leanne Hirshfield ’02 was named 2011 Young Technologist of the Year by the Mohawk Valley Engineers’ Executive Council (MVEEC). According to the MVEEC, the award acknowledges the winner’s work and “contributions to our area’s knowledge base and to the next generation of technologists.”

 

Hirshfield’s award will be presented on April 19 at the 62nd Annual MV Technology Awards Banquet. She will be invited to present her award-winning research in October at the 8th Annual Mohawk Valley Technology Symposium.

 

According to its website, the MVEEC has promoted engineering excellence for more than 50 years. The organization’s goal is to “support and expand the knowledge base, functionality and business of technology in the Mohawk Valley” and by doing so, “contribute to the continued technical development of our members; stronger academic and professional communities and associations; and a stronger, more recognized Mohawk Valley technical knowledge base.”
