Hamilton College posted its second 4-0 win in a week and the Continentals rolled to a non-conference victory at SUNY Canton on Sunday.

Hamilton (5-5-3 overall) closes out the regular season on Tuesday at NESCAC opponent Williams College. The Continentals will secure a spot in the eight-team 2013 NESCAC championship with a win.

Morgan Fletcher ’17 scored a pair of goals for Hamilton, which finished with a season-best 17 shots on goal. The Continentals enjoyed a 28-6 shot advantage.

Halle Becker ’15 opened the scoring with her third goal of the season midway through the opening half. Becker lofted a corner kick into the top left corner of the goal in the 29th minute for her second game-winner of the season. Hamilton took five corner kicks to Canton's two.

Fletcher added a pair of goals 6 minutes, 10 seconds apart in the second half, giving her three scores in her last two games. She took a pass from Emma Teach ’16 in the 62nd minute, carried it in and beat goalkeeper Brittany Rotach with a low, left shot. Teach’s assist was her first career point. In the 69th minute, Fletcher corralled a loose ball and scored to the same spot for her first multi-goal game.

Sarah Lasker ’14 buried a penalty shot with 2:18 left in the second half for her first collegiate goal and the final goal of the afternoon. Liza Gergenti ’14 made four saves in 83-plus minutes and the Continentals posted their fifth shutout.

Sunday’s game was the first meeting between Canton (7-9-2) and Hamilton. The Continentals have played 18 first-time opponents in the past 11 years and have a 12-1-5 record in those games.
