Hamilton’s curling teams competed in a two-day bonspiel that they co-hosted with Colgate University at the Utica Curling Club, Feb. 13-14. On Saturday, all three Hamilton teams competed all day. Hamilton 2 played off against Hamilton 3 in the semi-finals and won, advancing to the E event finals. Hamilton 1 on the other hand played off against RIT 2 and lost by a very close margin, advancing RIT 2 to the finals to play against Hamilton 2. In a very close match, with RIT on the verge of a comeback, Hamilton 2 won out in the end, for a final score of 6-3, thus winning the E event.
This win earned Hamilton just enough points to qualify for the USA College Curling Nationals, which will be held at the Rochester Curling Club on March 13 to 15. Hamilton will send one team consisting of skip Jake Davidson '15, vice Kevin Welsh '15, second Josh DeVinney '15, and lead Olivia Valcarce '15.
