Students place candles on the steps of the Chapel at the conclusion of the 9/11 vigil.

The Hamilton College community took part in a vigil commemorating the 12th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.  Students, faculty and community members met in front of Kirner-Johnson and walked to the  Chapel. The informal program included song, spoken reflection, and silence, then participants placed candles on the Chapel steps.

The event was co-sponsored by the All-Beliefs Union, Hillel, the Hamilton Spirituality Initiative, the Secular Society, the Muslim Student Association, the Newman Council and the Protestant Chapel Community.

The College Republicans and the College Democrats also set out the annual display of 3000 American flags beside Martin's Way in memory of those who lost their lives (including three Hamilton alumni) on that day.
