Hamilton College is commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with events this week and next. Today, employees are volunteering at three non-profit organizations in the Utica area. Employees were released from regular duties so they could work on group projects at Johnson Park Center, Upstate Cerebral Palsy and the Rescue Mission.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, more than 100 Hamilton students will participate in the 15th annual MLK Day of Service at locations around the Mohawk Valley.
A lecture by Syracuse University Law Professor Paula Johnson and a dinner on Monday, Jan. 28, will be the keynote event to commemorate MLK Day. Johnson’s lecture is titled “Justice is the Public Face of Love” and will address how the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. inspires us to work toward justice today.
