The Hamilton College Department of Music presents the 2016 choir musical, Sondheim on Sondheim, on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the musical was conceived by James Lapine (who originally directed the Broadway production). Sondheim on Sondheim is an intimate portrait of the famed songwriter in his own words and music.
Directed at Hamilton by G. Roberts Kolb, with choreography by Nancy Long and lighting design by Bill DiPaolo, the performance features the Hamilton College Choir singing both well-known, rarely-heard, and cut material taken from 19 Sondheim shows produced over a 62-year period. The performance also features large-screen video commentary from the Sondheim himself delving into his personal life and artistic process
Tickets for this performance are $10 for adults/$8 for senior citizens, Hamilton community and non-Hamilton students/$3 for Hamilton College students. For tickets or more information, call the box office at 859-4331 or visit www.hamiltonpa.org.
