Professor of Philosophy and Africana Studies Todd Franklin presented a talk titled "The Not So Obvious Connections Between Nietzsche and Critical Race Theory" at LeMoyne College on Feb. 15.
In his talk, Franklin sketched a sense of the art of the cultural physician and foregrounded a figure scarcely considered a friend of the racially oppressed, in an effort to demonstrate how Nietzsche’s philosophy ironically serves as a helpful framework for conceptualizing fundamental aspects of critical race theory.
