Director of Research and Instruction Services Lisa Forrest recently published an article in College & Research Libraries News (C&RL News). “Going Analog and Getting Artsy: Programming in the Academic Library” highlighted novel ways that Hamilton’s librarians are supporting the college’s educational goals through programming.

The article focused on the library’s “Apple & Quill” program, jointly hosted by the Digital Humanities Initiative, and how it provides unique opportunities for students to present artistic work while keeping the creativity and communication goals of the institution foremost.

Forrest also discussed events that range from book making and writing workshops to poetry recitations. She demonstrated how librarians might increase student engagement, improve collaborations with academic resource centers, and support institutional goals in unique and meaningful ways.
