A memorial service in honor of Life Trustee Joseph F. Anderson ’44, and dedication of the Tietje Family Tennis Center and Falmouth Road Race Reunion Courts are among highlights of the combined Fallcoming/Family Weekend, taking place Oct. 19 through 22.

The Alumni Association will recognize Bruce Gaylord ’70 and Gail Kelly P’06, ’09 as the Jeff Little ’71 Volunteer of the Year on Friday, and football, men’s and women’s soccer, cross country, and field hockey will host games on Saturday.

Friday, Oct. 20

11 a.m. - Microfinance Giant Pumpkin Fundraiser. The Hamilton Microfinance Group is holding a fundraiser to support loans to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Oneida County.  Sadove Student Center Terrace.

Noon - The annual Helen and Doane Comstock '27 Memorial Luncheon will celebrate student scholarship recipients and their benefactors. Tolles Pavilion.

3 p.m. - The Writing Center will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Drop in for a cupcake, meet the Writing Tutors, and help celebrate 30 years of Hamilton's commitment to student writing.

3:30 p.m.  - Summer Science Research Poster session. Students who conducted collaborative research in the sciences with faculty last summer will present and explain their work. Taylor Science Center, Wellin Atrium

4 p.m. – Student Alliance Dance Showcase. An informal dance performance showcasing some of the dance groups on campus, including Tap That!, Bunheads, Dance Team, HEAT, and Tropical Sol. Blood Fitness Center Dance Studio.

4:30 p.m. - Family Weekend State of the College.  Join President Wippman for reflections on his first year at Hamilton and an update on College happenings and plans. Wellin Hall. 

7:30 p.m. - Family Weekend Choir and Dance Event. The Hamilton College Choir and Department of Dance and Movement Studies share the stage for Family Weekend Performing Arts events. Wellin Hall.

9 p.m. – The Nicki Parrot Trio will perform an evening of jazz. Fillius Events Barn.


Saturday, Oct. 21

10:30 a.m.  – A memorial service and reception in honor of Life Trustee Joseph F. Anderson ’44. The Chapel.

11 a.m. – Women’s soccer vs. Colby. Love Field.

11 a.m. – M/W cross country, Hamilton Tune-Up. Cross country course.

1 p.m. – Football vs. Colby. Steuben Field.

2:30 p.m.  – Readings of poetry by prize recipients. Blood Fitness Center McKenna Conference Room.

3:30 p.m. – The Tietje Family Tennis Center and Falmouth Road Race Reunion Courts.  Plaque unveiling and ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m.

7:30 p.m. – Family Weekend Orchestra and Jazz. Conducted by Heather Buchman, the Hamilton College Choir presents a shared program with the Hamilton College Jazz Ensemble, directed by "Doc" Woods. Wellin Hall.
