“The Dynamics of Care: Communication, Management, and Adults with Autism,” a book chapter by Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology Benjamin DiCicco-Bloom, was recently published in Autism Spectrum Disorder in Mid and Later Life (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, ed. Scott Wright).
The chapter explores some of the challenges faced by primary caretakers in trying to support the health and development of aging adults on the autism spectrum. DiCicco-Bloom chronicled the experiences of two families with adult members with autism, drawing from a 5-year ethnographic study that he is currently turning into a book manuscript, under contract with Princeton University Press.
