The Hamilton College Department of Music presents the Hamilton College and Community Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra (formerly known as the Oratorio Society) on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m., in Wellin Hall.
Conducted by G. Roberts Kolb, the chorale will perform Handel’s Alexander’s Feast, with the added instrumentation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Featured soloists include Lauralyn Kolb, soprano; David Parks, tenor; and David Neal, bass.
This performance is a celebration of both Hamilton College’s bicentennial and 200 years of amateur choral singing. Alexander’s Feast was first performed in 1812 as the inaugural performance of Austria’s Society of the Friends of Music of the Austrian Imperial State.
Tickets for this performance are $8 general admission and $6 for senior citizens and students. Hamilton College students are admitted free. All seating is general admission. For more information or tickets, call the box office at (315) 859-4331 or visit www.hamiltonpa.org.
