The winning entry to the Pumpkin Carving Contest was Cinderella's Coach designed by Katrina Schell, Linda Brennan and Beth Brotherton of the Circulation Department in Burke Library.
The coach was complete with frog (aka Prince Charming) and several pairs of mice in harness patiently waiting to be transformed into galloping steeds. Coach decoration was accomplished by painstakingly fastening pumpkin seeds around the top and windows.
Two votes separated the winner from the second place entry - a six pumpkin totem pole submitted by the Philip Spencer House. The totem pole contained a pirate, a girl, a cat, a vampire, stars and moons and a big BOO! There were entries from all over campus and they demonstrated a wide range of creative talents.
