Hamilton's Department of Music presents a Fall Performing Arts Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, with free concerts by the College Choir and College Hill Singers and Hamilton College Orchestra in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.


The weekend begins on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m., with a performance of the Hamilton College Choir and College Hill Singers. Conducted by G. Roberts Kolb, the choir will present A Bicentennial Choral Celebration:  Two Centuries of American Choral Music including music by William Billings, Stephen Foster, Horatio Parker, Charles Ives, Cole Porter, Norman Dello Joio and Morten Lauridsen, as well as a performance of “Yankee Doodle.”


The weekend continues on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m., as Heather Buchman leads the Hamilton College Orchestra in Dvorak’s Serenade for Winds, Op. 44 and Beethoven’s Symphony no. 2 in D Major, Op. 36.
