Kate Childs '08

Kate Childs ’08 was just hired by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for a new position in the books department to create live events for client book releases.

Childs, an experienced publishing executive from Penguin Random House, will collaborate with publishing companies “to develop strategic programming in support of a book launch that expands upon a client’s existing fan base and amplifies their reach to readers across multiple channels,” according to a recent press release.

She worked at Random House for eight years, eventually becoming director of special events. In this role, she had the responsibility of creating and executing both private and large scale events for authors and readers alike. This work experience lines up closely with her new position, which makes her success in that role likely.

At Hamilton, Childs majored in government and was a member of Student Assembly, The Spectator, The Continental magazine and the Media Board.
