Hamilton Class of 1992 alumnus Skip Besthoff is ending 2008 reflecting on his decision to join Castile Ventures as a General Partner earlier this year. "This was a great move for me both professionally and personally," said Besthoff. "This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Castile 's success and to work closely with peers I have known for many years. With my family's deep roots and familiarity with the Boston area, we are taking full advantage of all New England offers."
According to Nina Saberi, founder of Castile Ventures and managing general partner, Skip's background in software and technology based services aptly lend themselves to Castile's longer-term interests while his market-oriented approach and entrepreneurial- based values embody Castile's inherent priorities. Saberi said, "We are delighted to welcome Skip to Castile and believe he will make an outstanding contribution to our growing early-stage investment platform."
Prior to Castile Ventures, Besthoff worked with Rho Ventures to evaluate investment prospects, manage internet and software investments, and worked to expand Rho's software practice. Over his eight year tenure at Rho, Besthoff worked with close to 20 investments valued at, in sum, nearly $200 million and was also involved in refining Rho's internal staff. Since 2004, Besthoff has been involved with other companies such as Everdream, Megapath, and Verified Person and currently serves on the board of Intralinks.
