With much cooperation from Mother Nature, Bon Appétit, Hamilton’s food service provider, hosted the 9th annual Eat Local Challenge under sunny skies on Sept. 24, in McEwen Courtyard. All food served came from within a 150-mile radius of the campus. The menu included the best of Central New York with dishes like salt potatoes, honeyed raspberries, local apple sauce, Sun Gold tomatoes, roast pork loin, grilled garlic chicken, acorn squash, apples and cider and grape juice.
Local providers included North Star Orchards, Lucky Seven Farms, Evans Farmhouse Creamery, Mandeville Farms, Finger Lakes Fresh, Benton Berry Farms, Howlands Apiary, Bakers Acres and The Hamilton College Community Garden.
