Nestled in the heart of the Adirondacks lies Blue Mountain, a 3750’ peak just east of a picturesque lake that bears the same name. It is at this scenic location, in the quiet town of Indian Lake, that Andrea Shipton ’22 and Jane Taylor ’22 are spending their summers interning as a summit steward and interpretive assistant, respectively.

Journalist Jessica Moulite ’14 has received the national Posse Foundation’s Ainslie Alumni Achievement award, which the foundation bestows annually on an alum who has demonstrated leadership while giving back to the world.

Journalist — and now Fulbright researcher — Katie Jickling ’15 will travel to Chennai in Southern India to study the efforts of two Protestant churches to build gender-inclusive leadership. Jickling is a recipient of a 2021 Fulbright Research/Study Award.

Continuing a project that began last summer, four Hamilton students are working with Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology Mahala Stewart to study how families have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shania Kuo ’23, Caroline Freundel ’24, Kaela Dunne ’22, and Steven Campos ’22 are interviewing local parents, mostly mothers, to gain a better understanding of how their lives and households have changed over the course of the past year. The research is being supported by the Arthur Levitt Public Affairs Center.
