Eugene Domack, J. W. Johnson Family Professor of Environmental Studies, and Mason Fried '10 left on Friday, March 20, on a National Science Foundation-funded expedition to Antarctica on the U.S. Antarctic Program's research and supply vessel LM Gould. The three-week expedition will include visits to several locations along the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula including Palmer Station.

Sewanee held a 5-1 lead after four innings and cruised to a 16-4 win against Hamilton College at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Fla., on March 18.

The Hamilton College Choir and College Hill Singers begin their concert tour of Italy on Thursday, March 19, in Abano, Italy. This marks the choir's sixth European concert tour. The 73-member choir, under the direction of G. Roberts Kolb, professor of music and director of choral music at Hamilton, will perform in Pisa on March 21 and Perugia on March 24.

Jake Saidman '09 and Max Foster '10 combined on a three-hit shutout in the opener and the Hamilton College offense exploded for 20 hits in the second game as the Continentals swept a doubleheader from Purchase College at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Fla., on March 16.

Four Hamilton students on an Alternative Spring Break trip in Biloxi, Miss., were among volunteers interviewed for a news segment on WLOX-TV (3/16/09). The ABC affiliate featured Hamilton students, along with some from Winthrop University in South Carolina, in the piece about ongoing hurricane relief projects. The students are painting houses and clearing lots.

For the third straight year, the Hamilton College Curling Team struck gold in Chicago. Team Blue (lead Katherine Alser '09, second Yuqi Mao '09, vice Tom Irvin '09 and skip David Hamilton '09) managed to piece together an undefeated run for the second straight year, finishing first in Division II.
