  • As they continue to explore their new home this semester, students in Hamilton’s Program in New York City recently took a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Following are impressions of the museum as told by Jen Lengvarsky ’16.

  • Hamilton Program in New York student Jeremy Mathurin ’16 experienced a unique day at his internship with the Brooklyn Nets. Every year, NBA teams organize a series of Media Day events, where organizations had the chance to market, brand and interview their respective rosters in anticipation of the upcoming regular season.

  • Hamilton New York Program students recently toured the Whitney Museum, a modern art museum near Central Park. The group was led on a guided tour through a four-story exhibit of artist Jeff Koons. The exhibit was arranged chronologically, so the students saw the evolution of Koons' work.

  • Hamilton students in the Program in New York opened their semester with a visit to Richard Bernstein Advisors, an investment advisory organization led by alumnus Rich Bernstein '80. The group traveled to Times Square, where they were met by program participant Katherine Gross '16, who is interning with Bernstein this semester. This semester's Hamilton program is being led by Professor of Economics Erol Balkan and the topic is Global Financial Networks.

  • Students in Hamilton’s Program in New York City toured Brooklyn’s DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) neighborhood on April 2.

  • Students from the Hamilton College Program in New York City, directed by history professor Maurice Isserman, took a "Big Onion" walking tour of Harlem that included sites associated with the Harlem Renaissance. They also visited the last home of Alexander Hamilton.

  • Students in Hamilton’s Program in New York City took the “Big Onion” labor history tour of Greenwich Village and the East Village on Feb. 26.

  • George Taliaferro’s journey with jazz started in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, continued on the Hill, and has led him to the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. A participant in Hamilton’s New York City Program this semester, Taliaferro ’15 builds upon his interests as an intern for the renowned organization. Taliaferro’s internship with the National Jazz Museum continues the strong legacy of jazz connections to the College.

  • The spring semester Hamilton Program in New York City students visited the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor on their first day of orientation.  This semester's program in New York, "Labor, Immigration, and Reform in New York History," is directed by Maurice Isserman, the Publius Virgilius Rogers Professor of American History.
