Barbara Baldwin Graves Starnes P’80, GP’11, a Hamilton friend and former employee with lifelong ties to the College, died on Feb. 10 at the age of 90.

Associate Director of Digital Initiatives and Technology Lisa McFall gave the keynote address at the Southern Connecticut State University Forum on “Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom: Practical and Ethical Considerations.”

Sara Mohr, digital scholarship librarian, has been elected vice chair for a three-year term of the Institute for Liberal Arts Digital Scholarship (ILiADS) steering committee.

Associate Director for Digital Innovation, Learning & Research Nhora Serrano is the curator of a comics exhibit opening Dec. 13 at The Ohio State University.

Shannon Shannon, associate director of advancement promotion in the Career Center, was recently interviewed for the Handshake blog, as part of its Honor Roll. Handshake is the premier online recruiting platform for students, and Hamilton is one of the original partner schools.

Brenda Davis, associate director of Opportunity Programs, was recently awarded the Arthur O. Eve Human Relations Award at the Higher Education Opportunity Program Professional Organization (HEOP-PO) conference in Buffalo. This award is given to an individual who “champions the issues of inclusion, access, and success while making post-secondary opportunities available to historically underrepresented students through their efforts at their institution and through their advocacy at the state level.”

Many on campus know Jacke Jones as the executive assistant in the President’s Office, where she’s worked for the past six years. We’re excited to announce that Jones recently took on a new role at Hamilton — director of alumni and parent relations in the Advancement Office. Communications student writer Aliana Potter ’24 recently had the opportunity to ask Jones about her new position.

A chapter co-authored by Associate Dean of Diversity and Inclusion Maria Genao-Homs is included in a new edited volume from Routledge Publishing.

Library and Information Technology Services staff members recently presented at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference 2023. The conference is a gathering of higher education professionals from around the world who gather to develop professionally, build networks, and share problems and solutions to challenges in higher education.

Associate Director of Student Accounts Cody Witherell has been selected by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) for the prestigious 2023–24 Emerging Leaders Program.
