Bronx native Rogelio Ramirez Pacheco ’27 gives new meaning to “walking a mile in his shoes” with the release of the Air Jordan I Mid Subway — a special Nike shoe designed by the Hamilton College first-year and a fellow New York student.

The 2023-24 academic year wrapped up with the awarding of national fellowships and scholarships, conference presentations, and a Phi Beta Kappa election of 22 seniors.

Members of Hamilton’s Class of 2024 have walked off the Commencement stage, canes in hand, and out into the world ready to make a difference.

In its final meeting of the 2023-24 academic year in May, the Hamilton Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa elected 22 members of the Class of 2024. They join the 27 other members of the class who were elected in October and February.

Chloe and Olivia Chiota came to Hamilton four years ago as a package deal. The identical twins from Southborough, Mass., knew they wanted to play lacrosse together and be challenged academically. Several NESCAC colleges made their list, but one thing stood out about Hamilton.

Five Hamilton College seniors will embark to other countries through the prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship program, where they will polish their teaching skills, learn new languages, and serve as cultural ambassadors.

At the annual Class & Charter Day convocation on May 7, 158 students were honored with academic prizes and scholarships, and faculty teaching award recipients were recognized. Among top awards, Quinn Brown ’24, received the James Soper Merrill Prize, and Josef Kubofcik ’25 received the Fillius Drown Prize Scholarship.

Ellie Sangree ’24 and Jesse Wexler ’24 have teamed up and combined their respective science and business acumen to revolutionize the future of clean water.

Ann “Annie” Kennedy ’24 and Luis Felipe López Cruz ’24 received Hamilton’s prestigious Bristol Fellowship. The program is designed to “encourage discovery of self and the world, a greater appreciation and understanding of people and culture, and to enable individuals to act on great ideas through independent study projects.”
