  • In a spirited and giving mood fitting for the holidays, students recently gathered to participate in the ongoing “Food Harvest,” where volunteers collect and package excess food from the college’s dining halls.

  • The basement of the Sadove Student Center has just gotten a long-awaited facelift. An opening right before break showed off renovations that will provide Hamilton students with a place where they can study, play games, attend club meetings, watch performances or just relax.

  • Hamilton’s two-year-old Coding Team, whose members represent a range of majors and interests, built apps and relationships at its first Hackathon, held at Boston University.

  • The Hamilton community opened its arms - and candy bags – to around 100 children from Utica as the Newman Council hosted its 28th annual Trust Treat on Halloween.

  • It was a busy Halloweekend for the Outing Club as the newest batch of leaders was eager to get out into the High Peaks and show what they learned. Many students found that crisp, cool mountain air is the perfect remedy for a mid-semester lull and were able to enjoy the pristine beauty of fall in upstate New York.

  • It all started as an ordinary night at Hamilton College. On October 27, students held a classic costume party with feathered masks, Halloween music and red solo cups of soda. Suddenly, partygoers were startled by a scream for help. A man was found in the hallway—lying dead—with a suspicious bite mark on his neck.

  • Hogwarts@Hamilton, a time honored campus tradition, is back in full force just in time for Halloween. The annual production involves over 60 students and Sarah Zeiberg '19 sat down with two members of the executive board to talk about the process that leads up to the original hour-long comedy show every year.

  • Eight students launched Hamilton’s inaugural Alternative Fall Break trip with a four-day visit to Double H Ranch in the Adirondacks, Oct. 11-15. The camp was founded by Charles R. Wood, and actor Paul Newman as a part of his SeriousFun network of camps for children with life threatening illnesses.

  • Young artists who may not have time for a formal commitment to one department find outlets for their creative energy in organizations like Untitled@Large. Untitled is Hamilton’s premiere student theatre company.

  • Last weekend marked the beginning of a special time of year for the Outing Club -- the initiation of new leaders into the community. The first of two HOC Leader training weekends began Saturday morning in the Glen Haus, the Outing Club’s on-campus headquarters. These training weekends run in conjunction with a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification course from SOLO Wilderness Medicine which will take place Oct. 7 and 8. After completing both parts of the certification, the new leaders will be qualified to lead trips for their peers.
