  • The Men's Hockey Date Auction sponsored by the Social Traditions Committee on Jan. 25 was another huge success, raising $702 for the Young Civic Leaders Scholarship. Started last year by The Hamilton College Philanthropy Committee, the scholarship is given to a local high school senior who has demonstrated commitment to community service and is continuing his/her education at a higher level.

  • Over winter break, Hamilton College’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program sent seven students to Baton Rouge, La., as ASB’s first ever winter break trip. The students went to help local residents recover from the disastrous flash flood this past August.

  • For the last week of winter break, a small group of Hamilton students set off into the Adirondack backcountry for five days of winter camping in New York’s High Peaks region.

  • Hamilton is known for the long winters, but for the Hamilton Club Nordic Ski team the snow is the best thing to come back to after winter break.   • The Business of Giving, a unique radio program that focuses on the world’s social problems and their possible philanthropic solutions, will air a pre-recorded interview with host Denver Frederick and President David Wippman and trustee Aron Ain this Sunday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m.
