Stone Professor of Psychology Douglas Weldon presented a poster titled “Visual Cortical Evoked Potentials During and After MK-801 Administration in Rats” at the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience on Nov. 16 in Washington, D.C.

The New York Daily News recently featured an article on Thomas Booth '06 and Ben Preston-Fridman '06, who have started The Buffet of the World, a company that sells reusable shopping bags. Each bag features a fork with tines, each designed to match famous landmarks of great cities: the Empire State Building, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa to name a few. "The fork represents the idea that you should reach out and try everything that's offered in your city," said Booth.

Printed Matter has announced a launch for a new artists’ book by Ben Critton '06 titled The Bears. A reception and signing will be held August 19, 5-7 p.m. at Printed Matter, located at 195 Tenth Ave, between 21st and 22nd Street in New York City.

Abigail Campanie '06 has joined Campanie & Wayland-Smith PLLC as an associate attorney. Campanie earned her Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in June 2009; she was admitted to the practice of law in New York January 2010 and concentrates on forming and advising not-for-profit entities. She previously worked as a law clerk at Campanie & Wayland-Smith and as a records clerk for Nixon Peabody.

After three years working for WWNY 7 News, Alexandra Field '06 is saying goodbye. During her time at the Central New York based station, Field worked as a general assignment reporter and, most recently, an anchor for the 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. news hours. During her time at WWNY, Field was recognized for her work with a Syracuse Press Club Award and received an award from the Associated Press for outstanding spot news coverage for her work on the Academy Street apartment building fire. Field will move to WRGB, the CBS affiliate in Albany, where she recently accepted a reporting position.

An opinion piece titled “Students take part in community-based learning courses” and written by Levitt Center Associate Director of Community Research Judith Owens-Manley appeared in the Utica Observer-Dispatch on Sunday, Sept. 5. In a follow-up opinion piece titled “College students prove tremendous asset to area” that appeared in the Observer-Dispatch, a former Utica-based Americorps VISTA worker wrote about Hamilton alumna volunteer Haley Reimbold '06.
