  • Hamilton College is mourning the death of recent graduate Joshua “Jicks” Hicks ’09.  In an email to the Hamilton community, President Joan Hinde Stewart wrote in part, “It is with immense sadness that I write with news of the death on Friday, April 6, of Joshua ‘Jicks’ Hicks '09, who was a student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. A wonderful young man of great personal warmth and a talented singer, he came to Hamilton with Boston Posse 4, majored in religious studies and was a member of the Buffers, the choir and ELS."

  • Lachlan Markay '09 spoke Monday, Feb. 13 as part of The Heritage Foundation panel on "President Obama's Unconstitutional 'Recess' Appointments." The event focused on President Obama's recent appointments of one member of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and three members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and sought to "examine the implications of the President's power grab, the logical results if future presidents followed suit, and the remedies that lie with Congress to restore the proper separation of powers between the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government."

  • Students in the Semester in Washington Program met with U.S. Representative Richard Hanna of New York’s 24th District on Oct. 12. Rep. Hanna fielded a variety of questions from the group about his experiences as a new member of the House of Representatives and about the issues confronting the 112th Congress.

  • Dave Bugliari ’01 and Eric Kuhn ’09 were included in a Daily Variety article “Hollywood's New Leaders 2011: Agents” on Oct. 10. Bugliari is a talent agent for CAA and Kuhn is social media agent at United Talent Agency. Both were identified as Hamilton College graduates in the story.

  • On Oct. 5 at 7:45 p.m., Los Angeles-area alumni will be treated to a special night at The Roxy with Casey Gibson '09 and his band Filligar. Filligar is a rock and roll band that includes Gibson's childhood friends Pete, Teddy and Johnny Mathias.  They have been playing together for over a decade.
