Hamilton hosted the Sustainability Fair on Oct. 24, an event aimed at exposing students to local sustainability issues and the various opportunities for involvement.

Since relaunching in 2021, the Pottery Club has become one the largest clubs at Hamilton with more than 200 members. Each week the five club leaders, Sophie Crehan ’24, Alya MacDonald ’25, Izabo Ramos ’25, Eva Pearlman ’25, and Julian Jacobs ’24, accompany nine fellow members to the Kirkland Art Center (KAC) in Clinton where they take part in ceramic wheel throwing.

For many years, I’ve prided myself on being a musician — someone who knew the notes, rhythms, and techniques of music well enough to find a deeper love for the art form. I knew music, I told myself; I could easily pick up on any of it! Yet, it only took two hour-long lessons in the chaotically beautiful symphony of Javanese Gamelan music to completely flip my worldview on its head.

Hamilton's Davis United World College Scholars arrived on College Hill this fall eager to pursue interests through an open curriculum, hone their written and communication skills, and a join a welcoming community.

Every fall, Hamilton’s Outing Club (HOC) sends groups of students to the Adirondack Mountains where they attempt to summit each of the 46 high peaks in one weekend. This year, there were 25 trips and five overnight backpacking trips. Student participants included 40 HOC leaders, 20 shadow leaders (as part of HOC leader training), and 51 hikers for a grand total of 111. This year, Hamilton students summited 39 of the 46 peaks.

For nearly 25 years, Marge Petteys greeted students at the dining hall, swiping their Hill Cards and forming special connections. The "Hamilton Mom" to countless students retired on Sept. 22.

Mary Hurner ’24, a public policy major from Heber City, Utah, is among the first recipients of the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, also known as the Voyager Scholarship.

Hamilton alumni, parents, and friends were welcomed on College Hill by an autumn chill and plenty of sunshine for Fallcoming/Family Weekend, Sept. 23 to 25.

Ninety-five students spent their Saturday volunteering as part of Make A Difference Day organized by Hamilton Association for Volunteering, Outreach and Charity (HAVOC). This year, HAVOC sent students to seven different sites.

Imaginatively costumed Orientation Leaders shouting boisterous cheers, honking car horns, and very creative signs welcomed members of Hamilton’s newest students to the Hill on Aug. 16.
