Michele Paludi, Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s Studies, has edited and contributed a chapter in a four-volume book set for Praeger titled The Psychology of Love.

Joyce M. Barry, visiting assistant professor of women’s studies, has published an article titled “Women, Environmental Justice, and the Coal River Mountain Watch” in the 5th edition of Women’s Lives: Images and Realities.

Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s Studies Michele Paludi co-edited a book set titled Women and Mental Disorders. The four-volume set brings together recent research and theories to discuss women and mental disorders from a feminist perspective and was co-edited with Kevin Nadal of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Paula Lundberg-Love of the University of Texas, Tyler.

The Psychology of Teen Violence and Victimization, a two-volume book set edited by Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s Studies Michele Paludi, was recently published by Praeger.

“Gendering Knowledge: Feminist Research Methods and Epistemologies,” a program sponsored by the Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s Studies, will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. in the Red Pit (KJ 127).

Michele Paludi, the Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor in Women’s Studies, co-authored a chapter titled “‘Many Phantoms and Obstacles...Looming in Her Way’: Women Faculty in Academe” in Jennifer Martin’s edited two-volume set Women as Leaders in Education (Praeger Publishers).

Michele Paludi, the Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s Studies, co-edited a two-volume book set for Praeger titled Women as Transformational Leaders: From Grassroots to Global Interests.

Joyce M. Barry, visiting assistant professor of women’s studies, presented a paper titled “Situating the Particular and the Universal: Gender and Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining in the Context of Global Climate Change” at the Gender and Climate Change conference on Sept. 15 in Prato, Italy. The paper is part of a chapter from Barry’s forthcoming book Standing Our Ground: Women, Environmental Justice and the Fight to End Mountaintop Removal.

Hamilton’s highest awards for teaching were presented at Class & Charter Day on May 6 to  Professor of Economics Elizabeth Jensen, Professor of English and Creative Writing Doran Larson, Associate Professor of Women’s Studies Anne Lacsamana and Assistant Professor of Philosophy Russell Marcus. Frank Anechiarico '71, the Maynard-Knox Professor of Government and Law, was presented with the Sidney Wertimer Award by the Student Assembly.

Anne E. Lacsamana, associate professor of women’s studies, published her essay “Empire on Trial: The Subic Rape Case and the Struggle for Philippine Women’s Liberation” in a special issue (Invisible Battlegrounds: Feminist Resistance in the Global Age of War and Imperialism) of Works and Days.
