The Hamilton in NYC Program is off to a busy and exciting start. On Jan. 31, the group met with David Maddox, founder and director of the Nature of Cities, “an international platform to share diverse, transformative ideas about cities as ecosystems of people, nature, and infrastructure.”

Members of the Hamilton community gathered to hear Dr. Michael Dorsey’s lecture, “Pathways Beyond Paris: Toward Energy & Climate Justice” on Feb. 4. Dorsey is the interim director for the Joint Center of Political and Economic Studies in Washington, D.C.

All semester long, the Hamilton College Career and Life Outcomes Center has brought back alumni to meet with students and discuss their careers and opportunities in their fields.  From Jake Taylor ’14 discussing AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) to Richard Previdi ’77 sharing details of his career in real estate, alumni were eager to provide advice and answer students’ questions.

From their very first days on the hill, Hamilton students dedicate major portions of their college careers to community outreach and volunteer service. The Hamilton College COOP, or Community Outreach and Opportunity Project, provides Hamilton students with countless rewarding opportunities to volunteer and lend a helping hand to those in need.

In the wake of today’s vintage fashion craze, thrift shopping has become increasingly popular among college students and young adults across America. At Hamilton College, a select group of savvy students tapped into their sustainable side and hosted an on-campus fundraising event that appealed to the fashion preferences of the masses.
