Even during the summer, Hamilton students kept busy pursuing projects that reflect their talents and interests. Some conducted research off-campus, or studied abroad; others focused on preparing for Senior Fellowships or internships off-campus. Check out what some of our students did over the summer.

Forty-two new faculty members are joining Hamilton’s ranks, including 11 tenure-track professors in anthropology, computer science, economics, environmental studies, geosciences, physics, and sociology in addition to visiting professors, lecturers, and teaching fellows.

Hamilton alumnus and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack ’72 and Rep. G.T. Thompson, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, will kick off Hamilton’s 2023-24 Common Ground series with a discussion about bipartisanship, agriculture, and climate. The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Wellin Hall. Edvige Jean-François ’90, a media consultant and award-winning journalist, will moderate.

Hamilton’s Alumni Council has elected three alumni trustees to serve on the Board of Trustees for four-year terms beginning July 1. They are Edvige Jean-Francois ’90, Kevin O’Donnell ’89, P’22,’25, and William Schmoker ’89.

More than 1,200 alumni, family and friends descended on the Hill to Party On, reconnect with old friends and make new memories at Reunions 2023, on June 8 to 11. Of special note, this year marked the largest Hamilton 50th Reunion class - with 82 registered.

Stephanie Andrade ’26 and Katlynn (Kat) Leon ’25 will be exploring their academic interests abroad thanks to Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships. Andrade will travel to the Netherlands this summer, while Leon will study in the United Kingdom this fall.
