The Hamilton Classical Connection concert series opens on Saturday, October 4, at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts with a performance by Piffaro, the Renaissance Band. Piffaro specializes in the rich, varied repertoire of the Medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque periods (1400 to 1625) using colorful combinations of early wind and stringed instruments.

The Hamilton College Performing Arts Series starts off the Contemporary Voices and Visions series on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. in Wellin Hall with the Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo Puppet Theater, starring Shinnai musician Tsuruga Wakasanojo XI and master puppeteer Nishikawa Koryu V.

In celebration of Hamilton College's 2002 Family Weekend, the Departments of Theatre and Dance and Music will present several free performances by students and faculty in the dance program, choir, orchestra, and jazz ensemble.

The Performing Arts at Hamilton College announces an exciting roster of world-class professional performances for its 2002-03 season. From early music on period instruments to cutting-edge drama, the Classical Connections and Contemporary Voices and Visions Series have something that everyone will enjoy. All performances are general admission, begin at 8 p.m., and are held at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts on the Hamilton College campus, unless otherwise noted.

The Performing Arts at Hamilton will present internationally acclaimed performance artist Tim Miller in his latest production, Glory Box on Saturday, April 13, at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts. There will be a post-performance discussion immediately after the production in Café Opus.

The new music group California E.A.R. Unit will perform on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts at Hamilton College. The E.A.R. Unit will also present a free workshop on computer-generated music on Friday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. in Hamilton College's Electronic Music Studio.

The Hamilton College Performing Arts will conclude the Contemporary Voices and Visions Series with the new music ensemble eighth blackbird on Saturday, April 21, at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall in the Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

The Hamilton College and Community Oratorio Society, directed by G. Roberts Kolb, will perform a program titled "The Young Mozart" on Tuesday, April 24, at 8 p.m. at Wellin Hall, Schambach Center. The program will feature works completed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart before he was 19 years old.
