Jiin Jeong '21 is spending the spring semester in Budapest, Hungary, and is reporting on her experience in the AIT program.

“Don’t be afraid what your first job is, because it won’t be your career or your last job,” said one alumnus, pointing out his transition from a business analyst to an architect. The sentiment was reiterated throughout the NYC Immersion Trip, as students saw how Hamilton’s liberal arts education and network prepared them for diverse career choices after college.

For most students, Thanksgiving Break is a week for family; for others, including international students who are not able to return home, it is a time for new cultural experiences and friends. Although the campus was quiet and cold, this Thanksgiving (or “Friendsgiving”) at Hamilton was made warmer with community-building activities and shared holiday spirit.

A large crowd gathered in the Events Barn on Nov. 9 for Multicultural Mayhem, a celebration of diversity through performances, fashion, and food. The event was organized by On the Move, a student organization that builds relationships between Utica’s refugee community and Hamilton College.

Nineteen Levitt Leadership Institute (LLI) students traveled to Washington, D.C., during the first week of spring break to study leadership. A continuation of the week-long January program that was primarily focused on theory, the trip allowed students to apply what they learned as they interacted with influential leaders in public service, government, and nonprofit sectors.
