Event Description

Join us for a Levitt lunch talk entitled "What Just Happened? The 2024 Election and the Crisis of Party Politics" with Associate Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Public Affairs and Policy Research Initiative at Colgate University. RSVP for lunch here.

Though we live in an undoubtedly hyperpartisan era, the roles that our political parties actually perform as organizations, and their efficacy in performing them, are much less clearly understood. During this talk, Sam Rosenfeld, co-author of the new book The Hollow Parties: The Many Pasts and Disordered Present of American Party Politics (Princeton University Press), will assess the outcome and significance of this year's election through the lens of American parties--their historical development and their contemporary predicaments and pathologies.
