Levitt: Election and the War in Ukraine Event Image

Join us for a lunch and a talk by Henry Platt Bristol Chair of International Affairs and Professor of Government Alan Cafruny entitled "The November Election and the War in Ukraine: What are the Prospects for Peace?"  RSVP here for lunch.

After more than 32 months and the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers, the war in Ukraine has reached a critical juncture. Further military and economic escalation by NATO seems destined to only cause more death and destruction while also increasing the possibility of a major––and potentially nuclear––war. Will the election of a new US President increase prospects for a negotiated settlement and an end to the conflict? Join Henry-Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs Alan Cafruny as he employs his expertise in geopolitical dynamics and the history of American and European States' relationships with Russia to present his analysis of the war in Ukraine today and what a change in the presidential administration could mean for the course of the largest war in Europe since WWII.   Lunch will be catered by Parkhurst Dining.
