Planning & Preparedness

Hamilton College routinely operates in a manner which avoids emergencies. However, the College is not immune to critical incidents, and strives to plan and prepare for them through written plans and protocols, training, effective communication strategies, and regular meetings of the Hamilton Emergency Response Team (HERT). A broader group, the Hamilton Incident Management Team (HIMT), is composed of additional senior staff and other essential personnel with overall administrative and managerial responsibility for the College during emergency incidents.

All members of the College community are also encouraged to review the information contained in the links below as a means of becoming more familiar with your own roles and responsibilities.

Emergency Action Plans (EAP's)

In the event of any single emergency incident, there are a number of immediate and defensive actions the members of our community should take. Those actions are described in the "Emergency Action Plans" that follow:

3. Occupational or Residential Emergencies

5. Facility/Miscellaneous Emergencies
