Sandra Stanton
Senior Lecturer in the Dance and Movement Studies
Sandra Stanton received her B.F.A. in dance from The Juilliard School in NYC, and is also an alumna of North Carolina School of the Arts. For several years, Stanton performed professionally as a principal dancer with Twyla Tharp's international touring company THARP!, as well as LaLaLa Human Steps in Montreal. She has taught Tharp repertoire in colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and abroad. Her pre-professional studies include The Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Vail, Co., The School of the Chicago City Ballet, and Chautauqua Dance Company.
Stanton is a nationally certified classical ballet instructor with American Ballet Theatre's National Teacher Training Curriculum levels primary to advanced, and is a certified yoga instructor and seasoned ballet and contemporary dance choreographer.
