He was co-principal trumpet with the Pittsburgh Symphony and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the symphony orchestras of Houston, Minnesota, Buffalo, Rochester and Jacksonville.

He has been a featured performer at the International Trumpet Guild Conference and recorded with the Pittsburgh and Syracuse orchestras. In the summers Raschella has performed as principal trumpet of the Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina and the Spoleto festival in Italy. He's a frequent performer at the Skaneateles Festival.

Raschella attended the Manhattan School of Music and the Curtis Institute of Music, where he received an artist diploma. He taught at Ithaca College.

He still remembers his first musical experience: He was 9 years old when he heard the Syracuse Symphony perform at the Onondaga County War Memorial, a concert that changed his life by turning him on to classical music.
