Christiane Fischer
Visiting Assistant Professor of German Studies
Christiane Fischer is a scholar of 20 and 21st-century German literature, film studies, and media theory. Her research addresses the nexus between media theory and issues of social and environmental justice. Currently, she is working on two research projects. The first explores the effects of digital technologies on testimony, and in the second, she reflects on the metaphor of fluidity used in contemporary discourses on new media. When it comes to her teaching, she hopes to push the boundaries of German Studies by emphasizing interdisciplinary inquiry and to challenge the German canon by including marginalized perspectives.
