Asanka Amarasinghe
Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics
Asanka Amarasinghe received his Ph.D. and M.S. in physics from the University of Connecticut, Storrs. His main research interests involve utilizing alternative gravitational theories to understand the primordial universe in contrast to standard Einstein gravity. Amarasinghe’s previous work involves cosmological perturperbation theory in standard Einstein gravity and conformal gravity, a potential candidate for a non-dark matter gravitational theory. Recently, he is also interested in quantum gravity program and the potential of conformal gravity as a quantum theory of gravity. Amarasinghe also currently serves as a gratis research scientist in the Department of Physics, University of Connecticut.
