Anya Acharya ’24
Major: Chinese
Minors: Government and Russian Studies
Anya is a senior from Buffalo, N.Y. Anya loves connecting with people from different cultures through language exchange, art, and especially food! Outside of class, you will probably find Anya at the Fojo Beans cafe making delicious drinks. She is super excited to be a tutor this year and looks forward to meeting more Chinese language students!
Peter Cuomo ’24
Major: World Politics
Minor: Italian Studies
Peter is a senior from Long Island, NY. Outside of tutoring Italian, Peter jumps for the Track & Field team, loves to hike and ski, and enjoys watching the Mets.
Angela Escalante Zarco ’25
Majors: Classical Studies and Archaeology
Outside of class, Angela is typically reading in the library or hanging out with friends. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and watching Marvel movies. Angela is a Latin tutor.
Jayden Fedoroff ’25
Majors: Computer Science and Japanese
Jayden is a junior from Clinton, N.Y. When Jayden isn't tutoring Japanese, he works part-time as a software engineer intern. In his free time, Jayden enjoys spending time with his family and pets, playing fighting games with his friends, watching anime, and working out at the gym.
Jessica Franzten ’24
Majors: Japanese and Psychology
Jess is a Japanese tutor and started learning Japanese during her first year at Hamilton, and recently returned from studying abroad in Kyoto. In her free time, Jess works at Burke Library, practices with the Hamilton Debate Society, writes her dual theses, and plays video games with friends.
Syra Gutow ’24
Majors: Women and Gender Studies & Middle East and Islamicate World Studies
Syra is from Castine, Maine (P.S. it’s not near Portland). She is an Arabic tutor and also works at the climbing wall. In her free time, while consuming copious amounts of dried mango, smoothies, popcorn, and tea, she likes to read, walk in the glens, hammock, and take too many pictures of sunsets.
Eddie Ha ’25
Majors: Chinese and Economics
Born in Hong Kong, Eddie is a junior from Potomac, Md. (just outside D.C.). Besides being a language peer tutor, he is a member of the varsity swim team, you can often find him in the gym, pool, or cooking up something weird in the kitchen.
Ivy Hammer-Gumbrell '26
Majors: Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies
Ivy is a sophomore from Kennebunkport, Maine. She is a double major in Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies. On campus, she is also a Community Advisor and a Writing Center Tutor. In her free time, she loves to play the violin, go for runs in the glen, and paint watercolors. She also enjoys R&B music, The Office, hikes, and good espresso.
Maeve Harrington '24
Major: Classical Studies Minors: Archaeology and Psychology
Maeve Harrington is a senior from Barrington, Rhode Island. She is a Classical Studies major and an Archaeology and Psychology minor. She spent the spring of her junior year studying abroad in Rome. Her favorite class while abroad was Latin epigraphy, where her class walked through the streets of Rome translating Latin inscriptions! Maeve is on the Field Hockey team and during the off season loves to play with the Club Hockey team. Post-grad Maeve hopes to pass on her love for Latin and ancient civilizations by teaching for a few years and then attending Nursing school!
William Haynes '24
Major: Art History Minors: Japanese and History
William Haynes is a senior from Houston, Texas. Besides tutoring Japanese at the Language Center, he also works as a Docent and Student Collections Assistant at the Wellin Museum of Art. William is also a big fan of the outdoors and climbing, so if you have any cool trips coming up or that you have been on, talk to him about it!

Benitha is a French tutor and is from Burundi. She speaks five languages!
Esther Koo ’25
Major: Economics
Minor: Jurisprudence, Law and Justice Studies
In addition to her role as a Korean Peer Tutor, Esther is a dedicated member of the Hamilton College Orchestra. Outside of class, you’ll often find her hanging out in the library, indulging in her love for K-dramas, or getting lost in the pages of a good book. Esther is excited to be a tutor this year and looks forward to helping students out at the Language Center.
Christie Lam ’25
Major: Hispanic Studies
Christie is from Panama. When she is not tutoring Spanish at the Language Center, you can find her at FOJO working as a barista. In her free time, you can find her napping or cooking.
Regina Lin ’24
Major: Chinese
Regina, who always tries to tell people to take Chinese at Hamilton, loves learning the language and cultural aspects of China. She looks forward to helping Chinese learners at the Language Center.
Hannah Lipskar ’25
Major: Government
Minor: Religious Studies and Hispanic Studies
Hannah is a junior from New York City and is tutoring Spanish at the Language Center. She started learning Spanish in sixth grade and has loved exploring other cultures through the study of language! In her free time, Hannah is on the Hamilton Club Soccer team and has a radio show on WHCL.

Megan Mogauro ’24
Majors: Archaeology and Classical Studies
At Hamilton, Megan is the managing editor of the Haley Classical Journal, and is the president of Classics club. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games and reading comics. Megan is a Greek tutor.
Eric Moss ’24
Majors: World Politics and German Studies
Eric is a from Port Washington, N.Y. On campus, Eric serves as editor of The Spectator, a German and philosophy TA, and an Adirondack Adventure leader. You can usually find him chasing friends down to help pass out the latest issue of the school paper or chasing his next coffee fix.
Skyla Patterson '24
Majors: Japanese & Psychology
Skyla is a senior majoring in Japanese and Psychology from NYC. In her free time, she reminisces about the time she spent in Kyoto, works at the climbing wall, plays video games, watches anime, dances, and helps with Culture Magazine. She's excited to work as a tutor and help her underclassmen!
Anthony Scurto ’24
Major: Literature
Anthony Scurto is a junior from San Jose, Calif. A major in Literature, Anthony particularly likes Renaissance-era literature, as well as contemporary graphic novels. When he’s not tutoring Russian at the Language Center, Anthony works as a tour guide and is a chair of the Disabled Students Network. Outside of class, you can find him catching up on research or attempting some avant-garde baking recipe.
Veronica Seixas '24
Major: Japanese & Geoscience
Veronica is from Thousand Oaks, California. She is a Japanese tutor and started learning Japanese her first year at Hamilton. She recently studied abroad in Kyoto and enjoyed visiting temples and shrines. In her free time, she loves to sing with her acapella group, Duelly Noted, go on hikes (and look at the cool rocks), and travel whenever possible.
Jorge Vásquez-Perez ’24
Major: Chemistry
Minor: Music
Jorge is from Ponce, Puerto Rico, and is a Spanish Tutor at the Language Center. Spanish is his first language as he was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He loves to explore the nuances of Spanish lexicon, slang, accents, and regionalisms that are so distinct between every Spanish-speaking nation, taking into consideration their unique influences, such as indigenous, African, and European heritage.
Catherine Vogt ’24
Major: World Politics
Catherine is from Darien, Conn. She tutors Italian at the Language Center and could talk your ear off about her semester abroad in Florence. On campus, Catherine is a writer for the Office of Marketing and Communications, a HamVotes Captain, and the Media Board Chair.
