Nathaniel Livingston ’14 and Alyson Raynor ’14, candidates for May graduation from Hamilton, have been awarded prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowships for 2014-15. Livingston’s project is titled “Performing Culture: Contemporary Expressions of Oral and Musical Traditions,” and Raynor’s is “The Path of Rehabilitation and Reintegration: Exploring the Lives of Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors.”

Elisabeth MacColl ’16 has been named a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar for the 2014-15 academic year. She is among 283 scholars from across the U.S. to receive the Goldwater, the premier national undergraduate award in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.

Sam Bishop, a candidate for May graduation, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Indonesia. He is an English major at Hamilton.

Angela Gizzi ’16 has been awarded The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Korean in Wonju, Korea. Wonju is located in Gangwon Province and the Wonju campus is 30 minutes away from PyongChang, the host city of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Athina Chartelain ’13 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Costa Rica. A communication major at Hamilton, she studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, in 2012.

Mia L. Falzarano ’13 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Turkey. A psychology major at Hamilton, she studied in Greece through Arcadia University during the 2011 fall semester.

Linda Zhang ’13 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Russia. A Russian studies and comparative literature major, she spent the 2011 summer and fall semesters studying at Bard-Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in St. Petersburg and Yaroslavl' Pedagogical State University.

Grace Lee, a candidate for May graduation from Hamilton, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Russia. A Russian studies major, she spent the 2011-12 academic year studying at Bard-Smolny College in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she served as an English tutor.

Erin Sullivan ’13 has been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship to Russia. A Russian studies major, she spent the spring 2012 semester studying at Bard-Smolny College in St. Petersburg, Russia. Sullivan is a Dean’s List student at Hamilton, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in February.

Hamilton senior Anna Zahm, an anthropology/archaeology major, has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) to Thailand.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.
